Rockstar Games has reminded the voice cast of GTA 6 that they remain under a non-disclosure agreement and cannot reveal their roles before November 19, according to the hosts of the GTAVIoclock podcast.
The reminder reportedly went out shortly after actor Stephen Root confirmed that he appears in the game. Rockstar has not commented publicly on the message.
The podcast hosts discussed the message in episode 141 and quoted it as follows: “We would like to remind everyone to please remember your NDA. The date you may announce your involvement is still November 19th.”
November 19 is the scheduled launch date for Grand Theft Auto 6. If the message is accurate, the cast of the game will stay unconfirmed until players can hear the performances themselves.
Stephen Root Confirmed His GTA 6 Role Earlier This Month
Stephen Root, known for Barry, King of the Hill, and Get Out, said earlier in September that he plays a character in GTA 6. He did not say which role. Fans had already linked his voice to the drug dealer Brian Heder, who speaks in one of the first GTA 6 trailers.
Root is the first actor to confirm involvement in the game. Rockstar has kept the voice actors behind the two protagonists, Lucia and Jason, and every other character in Leonida under wraps, even as it revealed other parts of the game in recent weeks. Those reveals include a soundtrack with 34 original songs from real-world artists and a $400 collector’s set without the game.
The GTAVIoclock hosts are described by followers as having long-standing contacts at Rockstar North going back to before the release of GTA 5. Rockstar has not confirmed the message, and the claim has not been independently verified.
GTA 6 Cast Remains Unconfirmed Ahead of Launch
Rockstar has cast well-known actors in earlier Grand Theft Auto games, including Samuel L. Jackson and Ray Liotta. Rockstar has not said whether GTA 6 includes similar celebrity roles, and the NDA date keeps that question open until release.
Players who want to avoid cast spoilers should treat any pre-launch cast list or social media post from an alleged performer with caution. Leaked material has been a recurring problem for the game, including the Cyberleaks leaks and a separate leak of GTA 5 and GTA 6 content.
Rockstar has not announced plans to publish an official cast list before November 19. Until then, Stephen Root remains the only GTA 6 actor to confirm a role publicly.
